Looking for good info and videos on parallel parking.
Straight line and offset are no problem but parallel parking is on and off.
Sometimes seems real easy but last couple of times I had a little bit of trailer hanging over the yellow lines on both sides.
Appreciate all info.

There is a formula to it, depending on truck and length of trailer.
Example -
At 5mph, pass cones , and at drive axle point, turn wheel 3.5 times to right, straighten trailer, stop.
Align 'X' cone in passenger mirror, back until "Y', and turn wheel 2 times until backed into spot.
A good instructor can demonstrate this.
The real world is totally different (lack of cones).
Good luck. -
Parallel parking isn't required on the test in my state, but it seems to me it's almost the same as the offset maneuver without the cone (that represents a parked car or whatever) in front. If you can do the offset you should be able to use the same proceedure for parallel parking, right?

Parrelell parking is the same thing as offset just on the other side and u back it into the side of the box rather than in the front like offset
NavigatorWife, quatto, truckdriver31 and 2 others Thank this. -
its the same as a car. you both still got to pull up beside the next vehicle
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
You in a day cab or a sleeper? I look out the back window to see angle of truck and trailer and where the drive axles are in relation to the curb so I know when to cut it. Sleeper I have no idea, sorry about that.

Sleeper truck if there is a line painted for the box. Or if there is curb Going off what @FlaSwampRat said, when u see the curb/line get just past even with ur back drive tire in ur blindside mirror thats ur cue to turn the wheel and it should slide right in the hole.

No No No!
Just ram the trailer in there. If you're in a Swift yard. They'll never notice.Snailexpress, Cattleman84, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ok, giving you the benefit of being a new driver, someone is hosing ya'. I don't think I've ever needed to parallel park a semi, 4 ways on and set the brakes. Anything else that doesn't sound quite right, make sure you ask us 1st. Beats looking stupid. "Dude, check it out, I think that guy is trying to parallel park his semi",,,be an internet hit! Whilst learning, I too got funky info from some guys, that wanted me to look stupid. This was obviously before TTR!
