That all makes sense... I was just curious, as I often get deadheaded 200 to 400 miles. But my loads are all over 1600 miles loaded, with the exception of the short hop from SLC to home.

Hassle of customer is a big factor. Guys that just spew out numbers off spreadsheets, I don't believe have any practical or working knowledge.

There's so many variables in this business. Trying to fit everything into a set of rigid perimeters is nuts imo.

No cheating. Falsifying logs will get you in trouble.

Been on paper for three days and the wife is having the change of life hot flash thing. Sure has been nice driving without a stopwatch. Made me feel like a adult. Did it legal too.
Got home and the old lady has the house temp set at what must be 38 degrees. Didn't say a word for fear she would break down crying. Just grabbed a cold beer and put a hoodie on. Probably have to sleep in coveralls tonight.

I had to call logs due to the fact, while driving omnitracs went to beeping wildly at me, flashing a red triangle, and telling me we were all going to die if I didn’t stop now.
So an hour or few later when I stopped in Birmingham and checked it out it said to, “Fill out paperlog now!” I called logs abd they said that my elog said I was in an area it could not read.
I told her I didn’t blame it, I hated driving across Memphis too.

It sure is fun navigating new jersey and pennsylvania by good old atlas and pen and paper. Running paper logs the whole way , i think somebody flipped a switch back to 1973
