Thats not a bad idea. I need to think on it and pick up a new MS600 class Saw again. The locals already participate with their trailers and such. Hmm...

Your idea might have seeds here. I'll look into it. You get credit if it comes out to something.

Because anything below 80 is strange. It's like 65 out right now, freaking cold out. When you are used to 95° 350 days out of the year 65 feels nasty cold.

I remember the Gulf Coast. Grew up in Houston. Worked Marine Electronics all along the coast. That cold is miserable. Soaks in to the bone. I like it better here at ... gee... even below zero. Honestly... no joke.
On the joking side.... I'm waiting to see an article out of Florida. Distribution of Wool Sweaters to the Alligators.

Houston is literally the exact same as here. My oldest daughter lives there so I'm there a few times a year. We won't see any alligators for a solid week now. When we get cold spells like this they stay in the water because it's still warm.

Left a gal in houston summer of 98. What a gal she was. Probably have a dozen kids to chase for bedtime by now.

Houston has a set of issues which frankly to be honest Im happy not to have deal with in life much anymore If that Gal and I had more oppertunities in life to build a relationship over time say a year, I would have relcocated her somewhere else. Winterhaven would be one candidate, Green Bank WVa another etc.

Wool is awesone in wet cold... Like freezing rain wet cold. The only downside to wool is that it gets very heavy when it gets wet. It stays much warmer than any other fabric when wet... But #### heavy.

As said above silk is also good in extreme cold. When I go winter hunting I wear silk knee high stockings under wool socks. The silk not only holds heat, but it also minimizes friction that otherwise would cause blisters. Anytime I will be doing alot of walking and could be at high risk for blisters I wear silk knee high stockings under my socks.

Been cold in Minneapolis. Like real cold for this time of year.

I got next week left then hopefully I’m laid off, gonna be paving in the teens next week. I could have been laid off today but my boss asked me to stay another week so I figured I’d be a good sport. All the other drivers are trying to get to their winter homes.

To paraphrase Ron White “you had the right to remain silent, just not the ability.”

It’s not my fault if you get dragged into my stupid.

Don't forget to contact any local Scout troops! The older scouts will need to do service projects, and woodcutting for charity is a pretty solid project.
