Nah - ain’t that bad. Go to the Petro with paid parking. Security roams around. Never had an issue.
Anywhere else round there . . . That’s on you.
Should I be on duty or off duty

What kind of breakdown was bad enough to shut you down and require being towed, but simple enough to take it to loves? Did the truck run out of coffee? lol

It was at one time a source of long guns if you had 300 dollars cash so they say. I had verbal offers at the truckstop there in 78 before Mississippi. Among other offers. Word of mouth gets around to you by the time you finish a cup of coffee there. I suppose I could hire two buses 50 souls each, two drivers, enough rifles for all 100 and send them to shoot up Chicago for a little bonus for every dead gang person they kill inside Chicago. Aka a cleanup crew.
The situation overall is outrageous, so crazy as not to be credible. However if I wanted to put together something like that to punish a rival gang in Chicago that hurt my gang bad (Nothing legal about any of this, we are operating outside the law here...) Memphis will become one of three stations in the USA where it will be relatively trouble free to flash assemble a strike and bus them to Chicago to make it happen. Since everything is disposible on private buses no one is going to know anything until the rounds start flying in Chicago. A bit of 40 shot here several times a month aint going to bother anyone. Now.. consider 500 dead gangsters in one weekend.
Memphis is a difficult city however... it does cater to tourists and will show you a good time In order for that to happen you will want either no pockets or empty pockets in the pickpockets that will come your way. Don't worry, if Trump stashed a happy meal in his suit pocket, these professionals will have it out of there while hes beating the podium about how expensive it is to cook for the white house... -
I've said it before, but I'll say it again.......Memphis is the only place I wrapped my seat belt around my door handle.

Those places are Disney land now. I remember when a lot of places were bad. Most of the horror stories told today. Were first told in the 70's then repeated in the 80's 90's 2000's and are told today like the teller actually saw or had it happen to them yesterday.
Long FLD, blairandgretchen and ncmickey Thank this. -
The answer to the original post is. YES you are required to log as on duty not driving. If drivers were paid by the hour, or In a perfect world thats qhat guys would do. But in today's reality in this world. Guys most likely log on duty for 10-15 minutes. Then change log to sleeper bearth.
