According to cummins there is a bunch of upgrades u gotta do according to ur family to safely turn it up. For example a 450 should be only turned up to 500 without replacing turbo and water inlet housing and piston upgrades

Manufacturers always lean to extra caution. They have warranty and brand concerns

With a cummins engine i wouldn't chance it :p Most can be turned up safely by 50-100 HP. Anything more then that u could be asking for issues. A good tuner won't turn them up too far without ripping into the engine though. The guy i use he won't even do a remote tune. He has to see ur truck so he can inspect it aka the fuel pump and run over head to make sure its even in good shape.

    Clarification needed here....

I was wrong....he turned it up to a 600. He was figuring the extra horses from the full tilt manifold and flow thru muffler

    Sorry for the confusion

Mine is set at 400 and can be turned to 525 just by programming. No need to upgrade anything. I will have to change injectors and turbo to get over that. Not that I'm going to but that's the deal with my Cummins.

When he did the delete, he put in the BW turbo (i think it was the 702 like mine) and i thought he put in 5519 injectors. Not sure. He says it now pulls like mine (DDEC IV with mods) so it must be doing good. I mean...it IS a Cummings after all, he shouldnt expect too much....LOL

    Getting back to the topic.

Mercer sucks. They lost all the accounts. They were a really good company.

They don't suck, they're just a van company.. The ratio for Van loads to flatbed loads is like 5:1

These are people who stay in the office and try to get all the info they can and then believe what the office has to say. As we all know the office would not tell you what they want you to know.

In other words they want to gripe about this and that but still stick around. They just love the drama.
