So far, so good. Seems they’d rather get you back a day early than run you past your requested date, at least that’s my experience so far.

‘17 and ‘18 trucks have cams but no Bendix. ‘19, ‘20, and going forward don’t have the driver cams, but come with Bendix system installed. I couldn’t tell you how many days I “accidentally” leave that sun visor down. Nobody has ever said anything about it.

 

You guys holding steady with miles? I made the switch but I think I made the wrong choice. The equipment is garbage and that miles have been far from promised. If things dont get better I may be headed your way.

RE: hometime in this thread. One says 2 days earned for every seven out. One says 1 day
earned for every seven out.
One says maximum you can take is 4 days, another says 5 days
and yet another says 6 days.


Which is it? Seems it may vary from driver to driver?

 

At freymiller it's 1 day per 7 days out . Make you can take off is 5 days

Better hope you don't have an emergency during orientation. Had everything done except e-log class an had an emergency at home. Told them I had to leave an I would be in keep in touch. Called back once everything was cleared up at home 2 weeks later only to be told I no longer had a job. Reapplied only to get turned down. So be careful who you rub the wrong way in the office.

 

What do the Cabs look like on a Freymiller truck? From my conversations with ChinaTown I think they'll be who I will be going with after I get my CDL. Want to be prepared for what I can shove in there when I run solo.

get a full condo if you’re big n tall or taking a significant other along with you. There’s plenty of room for more gear than you need if you have basic organization skills.

This description is based off a ‘17 Pete 579. Idk how the newer models or KW’s differ. My top bunk has a mini fridge(1.7 cf- might have vertical space to fit a 2.7, but I haven’t measured to see), food in storage boxes, case beverages, and a 3 drawer plastic “dresser”, along with leaving room for food prep. Bungee/ratchet strap larger items in place. You’ll have a small half height closet about 18” wide, and either an open space or built in fridge below depending on if you want to pay them to install one. Wall under bunk has a mount with clearance to fit a 24” flatscreen. 1500 watt inverter under the bunk to run the basics. Lower cabinet with a shelf in it on other wall gives storage equivalent to a deep nightstand, with a pull out table(tv tray size) above it. Small countertop above that with a couple of cup holders and a pair of 12v outlets under hvac controls, with a tiny tiny cabinet next to it. Open shelf above all that large enough for a microwave. Under bunk storage available as well. One side I use for fluids, hand tools, and a battery operated leaf blower, while the other side rotates as needed.

When I first went solo, I brought waaaay more than I needed, and have since taken a bunch of things back home. Bring the basics, maybe a little extra, but try not to go too crazy. There’s plenty of space if you make use of it. Good luck!
