A truck stop of mine on a model RR layout?

I have a limited amount of real estate to work with on this layout. If every fuel lane went the same way, it would be awkward for trucks traveling in the opposite direction to approach the pumps.

 

When I model train layouts, I envision America the Beautiful, not America the Slum. Not America the Third World nation.I even placed a small public restroom right next to the convenience store because I believe even truck drivers should be gentlemanly and ladylike. Not total anti-social cave dwellers. There are literally hundreds of scale model dumpsters and garbage cans all over my layout. Not so much as a single scale-model gum wrapper on the streets anywhere. No smoking and drinking is depicted and no drinking establishments are modeled on my layout: no bars, liquor stores or saloons. There is a nice church with the American flag displayed on the front lawn. A minister is outside the church front door in a top hat with black Victorian clothes and his small cat is there too.

Being a late baby-boomer, age 55, I have this sterling Leave It Beaver image of our country still in my mind and memories.

 

There are actually scenes of a man pushing a lawn mower over this layout. Real gas mower sounds too. I have one farmer in an orchard standing on a step ladder near a red delicious apple tree. Note the Burt Reynolds/Bandit mustache guy in the cowboy hat at my hamburger stand and the other guy with a cane dressed like a city slicker in a hat.

 

Even big boys play with trucks and trains. Some of us have to play the PC gaming versions. Not rich enough to play with the physical stuff.
