Interesting, tags expired in August and I had to get their tags. Kinda curious, why would you run their plate for years and get your own though?

So do you do drugs? Do YOU even work at Mercer?

I'm starting to suspect that you actually have several different screen names here and like to act like you are the leader of a Mercer cult. I have a feeling that you are a recruiter for Mercer IF you have anything at all to do with them. It appears you have a very hard time wanting to believe things just because it's not a positive comment for Mercer.

    Are you ok?

Exactly as I said you try to make things personal. This week in fact is my ten year anniversary at Mercer. Keep going with the recruiter idiocy and now a cult ...wow.

You made a statement about all the deductions, I asked what they were, twice, and you have deflected that answer with nonsense both times. So for a third time, what are all these deductions that are taken out of your settlement that are required by the company? That is a simple request based on what you expect everyone to believe but refuse to offer any proof of. You sound more like a politician, never answer the question but instead deflect to another topic and attack the questioner.

Want a reason to run Mercer's plate instead of your own? I live in NC and (1) would have to pay sales tax of a couple thousand at time of purchase, (2) would have to pay personal property tax of several thousand every year, and (3) IFTA is handled with no chargebacks so I have no need to calculate where I stand on that tax and make adjustments. So Mercer is really screwing me over by titling and tagging my truck elsewhere. Perhaps I should jump right on this and get my own tags and IFTA and do things your way so I can pay thousands more per year and show them who's in charge of my business.

Well you can spin it how you want. Mercer isn't the worse, and they certainly aren't the best. They are basically the Swift of Owner Op flatbed companies.

Not every company takes escrow, most do. Not every company wants you to run their plate, some do.
Not every company makes you use trip scan or trip pak, some do.
Not every company makes you carry occupational insurance coverage (scam) that they deduct, some do.

We could go on and talk bout 1, 2, or 50 deductions. No one really cares, except you.

Short answer. They take more than some other companies do is MY point.

And yes, theres many on here that get the feeling you are or want to be a Mercer recruiter. So what, dont be so ashamed. We all have our place in this world.

Live in NC and lease to a company here, or have three or more employees, and you will have workers comp insurance. And 10/4 on paying personal property taxes and a tax when the truck is purchased and tagged here.

Are trucking companies and operators required to carry workers’ compensation insurance?
North Carolina law requires that workers’ compensation coverage be in place to cover certain trucking owner/operators, even if the operator is deemed to be an independent contractor. If the owner-operator does not have workers’ compensation insurance coverage, the motor carrier must provide workers’ compensation coverage. The workers’ compensation coverage must be in place regardless of whether the principal contractor, intermediate contractor, or subcontractor regularly employs three or more employees. A motor carrier employer is not liable for the workplace injuries suffered by an independent contractor who is: 1) individually licensed by the U.S. Department of Transportation and 2) personally operates the vehicle. (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 97-19.1)
