On I-85, in both directions, in South Cariolina, from around Spartanburg and north for about 20-30 miles there are big orange signs every mile telling trucks to use the left lane, due to construction.

I've concluded, that only about half the truck drivers out here can read, because half of them ride along in the right lane, oblivious to the signs.

    Makes them look like fools!

This stretch of the road is good indicator how some are dumb.
BTW driving in left lane is much easier.

Also why I'm convinced cops aren't just handing out citations for revenue. If they were there would be a line of pulled over trucks after every construction zone.

    They're boneheads.
The reason for using the left lane is because the travel lane is shifted during construction putting the #2 lane actually on the shoulder portion of the highway.
It's not designed for heavy truck use and will deteriorate.

What's as bad as the trucks that ignore them is the 4wheelers that pass on the right, flipping you off, because THEY haven't seen those 25 big orange signs either.

No one, spare a few of us, actually pay much attention any more.

I bet if they put up a FREE HOT DOG NEXT REST AREA post card taped to one of those signs every Flip Flop Step Pisser in 100 miles would see it.

What about the drivers who hang out in the left lane when they are not supposed to?

If the states would stop building roads with both left and right lanes and just use my idea to only build roads with TWO left lanes everyone could be happy.

Construction is too long, no place to pull over sometime 5-6 trucks blocking right lane for local 4-wheelers. Last time I drove this stretch it was Swift, front of him Prime, front of him Giltner and leader was US Foods.
Sign TRUCKS USE LEFT LANE placed every 1/10 of the mile. I don't assume all drivers are illiterate just trucks semi autonomous. Driver is away with his/her hands free device.
