Just here to vent about how slow my job has gotten...
I switched jobs in July from a company I spent a year. Now I drive dry bulk and it's gotten really slow and I think I need to switch jobs but this will make me look like a job hopper.

It all depends on what you haul and who for. I pull a reefer and I've been busy for the last 3 months. Rates are up as well so making good money.

Don't think about the "job hopper" stigma. If a better company will hire you, then change companies because the new company doesn't look at you as a job hopper.

    What “slow” season?

I’ve been knocking my brains out for weeks.

Truck driving, you are either "starving to death" or being "worked to death." Once you get out of debt, you can enjoy all of the surprise vacation they give you.

So I have most experience with dry van but I've hauled feeders to walmart before, maybe about a month and a half experience reefer.

Company that hires you will also train you during orientation.
MC VanKampen trucks run 75 mph and no New York City.

I do foodgrade liquid, and we're starting our annual holiday slowdown.

Most of our customers are union, so the Christmas/New Year's on Wednesday is gonna put a crimp in the next two weeks.

We knew it was coming, though.

Flat and specialized has been hit and miss lately.

I expect crickets until Jan 2nd.

But will keep an ear out for song birds.
