I now have a small rock chip on the elbow of my stacks. Does anyone know how to square things away so it doesn’t start to peel away the chrome or rust through soon? Thanks for the help.

And here I thought I was hard done by , replacing steel flex pipe with stainless after 2 years.
You chrome guys - I tell ya what.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Honest answer - no idea. I thought drill a small hole and insert a pull-out, heat and yank the dent out, but not sure after welding back up . . . I think you might have to just invent an AWESOME story about how it happen in case some other nit-picky trucker points it out and scoffs at your complete lack of attention to detail.
Or you could poke him in the eyes right quick, chunk an onion at his rig and run like the hounds . . .D.Tibbitt, Isafarmboy, HoneyBadger67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
But we look so cool rumbling thru the parking lot!blairandgretchen, TGUNKEL and Lonesome Thank this.

If it were me, I would get some chrome color touch up paint and cover the spot so it doesn’t rust. The chrome paint is not real chrome but it would be a good match. Or you could use silver automotive touchup paint.
It won’t be a perfect match, but should keep the rust away. -
Will have to find some hi-temp “chrome” paint.
-
Not a dent, a chip in the chrome.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

FYI: Touch up paint has zero anti-corrosive properties, it is for appearance purposes only.
For long term hold-out, you need an anticorrosive primer (etch primer or epoxy primer) directly over the bare metal. Put any touch-up paint over that primer.
