With 1/3 of a million threads, 6.5 millions posts and 270k members, how do you propose we verify every post as the correct information?
Here is the thing, if someone posts something incorrect, we allow debate. (Attack the post, not the poster) But there is no way to verify that every post is true and correct. If debate is happening correctly, anyone reading the thread, can take away what is the correct information. The problem comes, when people get snippy in their posts and start arguments. That is when we step in.blairandgretchen, 1951 ford, Slowpoke KW and 9 others Thank this. -

Empty in western Kansas dang near into Colorado..Slept at the dairy last night, talk about peaceful. No worries of getting backed into or vagrants knocking on doors.
There was talk of loading straw back east not for sure if that will happen or not.PoleCrusher, 1951 ford, singlescrewshaker and 8 others Thank this. -

With utmost respect and appreciation for your position here, and that of the volunteer staff, I think your take on the 6.5 million posts and your subsequent inability to monitor them is, in my humble opinion, off the mark . X1 is one of the most prolific posters here, he inserts himself into nearly every conversation. And because he speaks (writes) with such conviction and authority he gives folks with no experience or knowledge the sense that he is guiding them. And nothing could be further from reality. This is, I believe, antithetical to the whole purpose of TTR. And this is what I believe @IHTruck was driving at.
In my eyes there are about 100 posters here that possess about 90 % of the collective industry knowledge. (X1 is not one of them) These 100 people are contributing more to the foundational knowledge of the other 269,900 than they are hurting them with these occasional dustups.
Please, please, don't run them off, work with them, advise them, be tolerant. They are a vital resource that shouldn't be dismissed.
I know it would hurt X1's feelings, but maybe you folks should add a disclaimer to his profile to end this proliferation of disinformation. ( Take him aside and explain the reasons. No need to be mean about it.)
I know, it's a fine line,.............
Thanks for caring.blairandgretchen, peterbilt_2005, pushbroom and 19 others Thank this.
