Dang i was on per diem program with my company . they took it out of my gross pay. The way they advertised it , it was less taxable income , which is why i signed up . didnt see it broke down like that. Now i see how i was getting completely effed. Stepping over dollars to save a few cents. Now i know to never do that program again

Enjoyed your calculations. Nothing like bringing extra 40 boxes out of FL on 20% load for half the excess.
"Sliding" fuel tanks are not used much these days - "scenic routes" go unnoticed. Great improvement really.

Best freight week so far. I’ve been all smiles since I delivered yesterday. If it wasn’t a holiday throwing a change in when scans are due it would have another load on this settlement.

    ####ing stoked.

You're playing a whole different ballgame now. Its all on you. Find a good cpa that knows trucking. Save all your reciepts, consider a deduction until you know it isnt, but remember its not dollar for dollar. So unneeded expenses dont always help.

Being the guy in the room who pays the most taxes isn't always a bad thing, because it means you made more $.

My over loaded axles were completely my fault as the fork lift operator at the back woods, redneck, hillbilly place I loaded didnt know how to load it so he asked me... And I failed to take into account that the skids were 2500# each instead of the 2000# I'm used to hauling. I should have had him put a single every other row and I would have been perfectly fine. As it were I put at least 2 too many double skid rows in the front half of the trailer.

I could have went back for a rework, but it is a pain in the butt place to get to (the only way in takes you over 2 or 3 restricted bridges that have 30 ton limits). So I took a few mins to see if I could find a route that wouldnt add too many miles AND keep me away from the scales until I could burn off about 80-85% of my fuel.

In the end I managed but I wouldnt volunteer to do it again, even though the senic route is a nice change. Most of the route I took I have taken before in smaller segments, but more for the pleasure of getting off the big road than to avoid scales.
