Yeah this is always in the back of my mind and is what I have heard, as I wait to go to orientation. Yet they are still advertising for, sponsoring, and hiring new drivers like myself everyday.:biggrin_2554:

They do this because of the high turnover rate, drivers upset because they aren't getting enough miles, load miles are shorter and shorter because the shorter the run the higher the pay to the company. They can hirer a student at .26 or .27 whatever it is today, and make more money on the shorter runs. They need to keep the number of drivers high to be set to take the business once the economy turns around.

I've had 12 mile runs, have the logs to prove it, but hey, you take the bad with the good and hope that when they give you a 12 mile run it will get you closer to a longer run or they will remember you did this and didn't give them grief about it and will give you a really long run to make up for it. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, that's trucking....have fun.

Well, as long as I can keep my bills paid it doesn't matter I suppose. Just gonna put my nose to the grindstone and keep my head up. :biggrin_25525:

I feel the same way, sometimes the big trucking companies forget that your not here for the "adventure" that you may have a life and bills that need to be paid.
    Good luck.
