Does anybody experienced with Prime reefer division know how good they are collecting and paying detention? Is detention a problem at Prime or do they have enough drop and hooks to mitigate it?

When I was there, which was just for PSD and TNT, if we did 4 drop and hooks that was a lot. We did a lot of waiting at shippers and receivers, sometimes for over a day.

Drop and hook for that division is probably about 25% of loads. Detention for each shipper and receiver should be indicated in your load assignment. Most are detention paid when trip pays which means you are paid detention after prime bills the customer for the detention. Up to a few weeks for the detention to be paid to you. Detention billed should be indicated on the corresponding settlement if not contact immediately to determine why detention was not billed. Keep in mind some customers have a max detention, varying non compensated unload times, etc.
