    A form of... quackery.

Mr Pyro knows one job. Not to let you exceed 1500 for more than 7 minutes max.

The remedy for that is to take a gear down and back off the rpms until about 1400 and pull easy until the top.

The less manifold pressure you are running means less fuel, but you need to watch the pyro to make sure you are not lugging it, trying to save fuel.
If it gets to 1500, hopefully it has a boxing glove come out and bust your chops. lol

I haven’t watched the video. I just saw it posted in the other thread. If I get bored enough I might watch it tomorrow ;)

You’ll have to explain‘quackery’. If you buy the fuel, and pay for the turbo - you’re usually interested in saving $ on both.

1400 rpm is not a suitable rpm under load for all engines.

1500 degrees for 7 minutes? If I see mine touch 1100 I’m backing out of it.

Hopefully others may help explain the driving economy practice using boost / pyrometer/ RPM.

Because we’re trying to provide quality information, not nonsensical rambling.

You’ll have to have watched paint dry for 7 hours to be bored enough to watch that video. :)

Back in the day I saw EGT's of 1600º plus, but the temp sensor was in the exhaust manifold, not 6 to 8 inches behind the turbo where most of them are.

If you're seeing 1500º behind your turbo your engine is probably already toast or soon to be toast.
