Our paymasters bandied about the idea of driver facing cameras a couple years back. When literally the entire fleet threatened to walk, they backed off and went ahead with forward-facing.

Fortunately our safety department doesn't bother us with trivial ####; they're only concerned with rolling stops, following too close, and failure to obey traffic devices.

Hell, those smartdrive cams go off constantly, but we don't even receive video unless a questionable event occurs.

Another issue is with speeding - the smartdrive system uses Google Maps' speed limits, and they'll send an email to your safety guru - we played hell for several months, with every single driver getting pinged for 68/55 in a 65, simply because Google maps still had the highway listed as 55mph. The heads at Smartdrive literally refused to believe our safety director and kept sending warning emails.

It isn't just Google that has the speed limits wrong. My RM GPS does the same thing.
Sometimes it says faster and sometimes slower.

I don't think anyone keeps up with the changing speed limits of most roads.
Just today my RM showed a 45 or 50 speed limit in sections of highway that were 65.

But who can be held responsible for the mistakes?
The GPS companies would have to employ so many people just to drive all the roads to update things, or the people responsible for changing the speed limits would have to send each change to each and every company.

Smartdrive only does as instructed with the data it has, after all.

It is a no win situation for everyone involved until there is total and complete 100% information exchange between 100% of the totality in real time.

Even 1984 (Big Brother) and Gattaca didn't have that well coverage. Neither did Matrix.
There will always be a flaw in the system
As the Matrix put it, sort of... the variable that creates an unbalanced system.

Heck, even God can not create a world without flaw, and sin.
There are people that say that God can do anything. But that is the one and singular thing that God can not do.

Were you detaching? Why didn’t you lower the airbags before moving? Helps glide out easily since the weight is on the landing gear. Also I wouldn’t lose sweat over that if they fire you for that BS you were either a problem child they wanted gone anywho or the company is way too pushy with standards that you’re better off jumping ship if the pay doesn’t justify the BS. I set the camera off on my truck atleast once a month. It goes off for anything slightly harder than normal braking or 4 wheeler cuts in front to hit an exit. Good thing is the safety lady used to be a trucker and she doesn’t care if it’s something out your control haven’t had her give me a call yet.
