    But they're not wrong in terms of pay. Equipment could be better, but it's not YRC bad lol

    I worked as a casual for Roadway Express 1 holiday season & they stopped calling me because I kept having issues with equipment & even refused to haul a couple of their trailers because of it.
    The yard goats don't inspect anything, it gets put on a door & loaded & then you find issues & their like will get to it at the other end. Not on my CDL you won't.

    I was like is this dude for real? But I guess thats how some people view the work place. We got a dude like that where I work, & when his "favors" aren't reciprocated he does a lot of pouting. I get respect for the job I do, not the favors I can do. If thats not enough, I would tell them to piss off & find employment elsewhere.

    @CareerChanges
    Have you applied at other LTL companies in your area?
    XPO Freight, FedEx Freight, Old Dominion, and Estes seem to have pretty decent, newer equipment. You could also look into some local mom and pop LTL work, depending on your location. @Chinatown might be able to reccomend some near you.
    As far as the above mentioned companies, I can say that USF Reddaway, and Yellow Roadway Carriers are bottom of the barrel as far as outdated equipment goes. Some of the big barns may have decent shops to keep things running, but it's still old, higher mileage stuff.

    Yeah right;
    Favoritism, corruption, unsafe practices, and cheating employees out of their rightful pay never occur in non union companies. And then add those $600.00 per month for medical insurance and those lovely, expensive, 401K’s that the non union employee must pay for instead of both being totally paid for by a union job and those awful unions are looking worse every day.

    Some of the big name LTL's are union some aren't. Some just have certain locations that are union shops. I work out of a non-union location with my company. As a whole the employees I work with feel they are treated with above average fairness. If union reps were to come around now, I don't think there would be much interest in unionization...
    Should things go downhill in the future, there is always a possibility for it.
    One of the last things managers want is to have to deal with union negotiations. This should be incentive enough for them to maintain a standard of fairness, and try to keep morale high.
