That might be the park brake switch so the ecm knows the brake is set so you can bump the idle up. Some trucks had 2 switches on the service brake side one for the ecm and one for the brake lights. There’s 2 main types of pressure switches Normally Open and Normally Closed you can tell the difference by the height of the plastic but I can’t remember which is which.Eldiablo, cke, Swine hauler and 6 others Thank this. -

Yeah I just couldn't figure it any other way. Heck, even while spewing air the old switch was still turning on the compressor..

I know on a Peterbilt them switches come in two kinds. Contact normally open. Or contact normally closed.
Thinking about it they prolly vary in the pressure needed to move the contacter as well depending on the application.
