    how about this?
Instead of trying to turn more miles in 10 hours, why not demand MORE PAY PER MILE?
That's the actual problem drivers. Why work harder?
You barely get paid enough for what you do now and you want to do more???
How about getting paid better for doing what you already do or less?
The HOS rules are not your enemy, the person who determines your pay per mile is the enemy (owner operators should sit till they get better rates too)

We have a driver that runs from Dallas to Newark California and back each week. I do his run four weeks a year when he’s on vacation. It’s 3406 miles round trip. I do it in a 71 mph truck and do about 60 mph in California. I have about 10 hours left when I return to Dallas.

Could probably do another 600 miles with my remaining drive time. 4,000 miles per 70 hour clock period is easily doable on elogs but why in the heck would you want to? Way more to life than driving a truck.

Boy you guys are weak. Way back in 99-00 before Elogs resets under the old 70/8 hardcap HOS regulation . This old man was routinely cranking out 4400 miles solo in a week running St Louis to Stockton bounce over to Salinas right back to Salem Illinois in less than a week. Yes I had a 75 mph truck for the western states however Illinois was still 55 California was and still is 55. Plus I had to load up in Salinas each week and multiple picks of produce each time. It's called keeping that left door closed and not stopping during the driving period in order to do these runs. But I'm from the older school where my performance was how hard I ran not how well I could make the company look to the regulation .

My trainer used to get mad at me for driving 715 legal miles in a 65 truck.
    Because he couldn't.

Dang u must drive for prime. 1200 miles thats a 2 day run easily out west and a couple hours left to pickup another load. Linehaul even easier . . The mtns aint that bad on the interstates, its when u get off the interstates they get real steep and sketch. Plus if u running light u can get up n down pretty quick . Plus if u aint gotta nanny cam in ya truck u can hit the bottom of them hills pretty quick , not saying ive ever done that lol. U can do 4000 a week easily out west running linehaul but 4500 is pushin it
