I’ve had #### all luck for getting more than five hours of sleep this week..... got more energy than I have time to use. But the government knows better than I! So, guess I’ll truck watch for another two hours....![]()

Alright. I think I've got a general idea. If one state I'm legal in an 8 axle rig for x amount of weight I may not be legal in another state with that number of axles. They may require 9 axles in order to carry that exact same weight.
I should add this is all just on the basis that youd be able.to axle it out. Not trying to dip that far into it since I've just figured out that you cant just tag it for what your truck can carry.Tall Mike, jamespmack, Slowpoke KW and 4 others Thank this. -
Ribs are seasoned and ready for the traeger tomorrow.

yes but more complicated than that at times - could be axle spacing or tire size or axle group spacing - lots of different
Rules
And as @Superhauler said
the size and weight distribution of the item you are hauling can radically reduce your net payload. Some things must be loaded in one direction because of overhang but if they are heavy to the wrong end you can’t scale them and it will require a different configuration likely with more axles. Think about an excavator that has a big hammer attachment that must be loaded at the front of the well facing back - a four axle truck may not be enough but a 3 axle truck and 2 axle Jeep may scale it easilyTall Mike, jamespmack, blairandgretchen and 10 others Thank this. -
Alright yeah I was thinking of a haul truck in my head. Engine to the rear (purely out of speculation that the front end is heavier) on a 4 axle (3 axle fixed and a stinger or jeep? Not sure what the difference is. Stinger is solid jeep turns?) 40k rears on a truck along with a 20k pusher and 13,5 steer which is what under it now sans pusher. Not knowing what the haul truck weighs I was figuring youd move the truck front to back as well as sliding the fifth to axle outright.
All this came about from talking to a friend looking for a step, which then turning into hauling os/od which lead to rgn stuff and I started wondering so I figured I'd turn to the smartest people I know. That reminded me of watching some heavy haul guys positioning a haul truck on a trailer at a truck stop trying to axle it out right.
And that pretty much how we ended up down this rabbit hole.Tall Mike, jamespmack, Slowpoke KW and 6 others Thank this. -
