Its still legal and will work fine for years like that. I would only fix it if it was going to shop for other work.

You wouldn't mind if I cut the door skin open on your personal vehicle right? Just simple cosmetic damage. It's still legal and you can drive it like that.

You don’t wear work uniform and complain if it gets grease or cuts on it?

    OldeSkool Thanks this.

First: A thirty thousand dollar trailer isn't a work uniform. Second: I replace my grease stained or torn uniforms. That's an acceptable cost of doing business. Some guy tearing up my truck or trailer is not an acceptable cost of business.

Just curious if the OP signed a document agreeing to fix damage to vehicles he drives regardless of who's at fault, before he charged you, did you see an estimate for the repairs, and did you happen to notice if the damage that you paid for was actually repaired?

If the answer is no to all three, run, don't walk out of that place, find a new job, and file a small claim to recover what you paid him for damages. What your boss is doing is called FRAUD, and can land him in hot water.

You touch my equipment, you’ll pay for it.

I’ve been through this - and ain’t got an ounce of sympathy for your situation if YOU could have prevented damaging MY equipment.

And if I were to trash somebody else’s gear - you bet I’d pay for it.
