So my on/ off toggle switch corroded and one of the wire connects is broken. The switch itself doesnt work right either. I'm at my shipper. Is there a way to by pass the switch and turn the unit on?

Just connect the two wires SECURELY. Arcing creates heat, heat creates fire, fires make for bad days. As soon as you find a repair shop, get it fixed properly.

Just twist the 2 wires going to the switch together and tape them up until you get a new switch.

Thank you. I did connect the 2 wires. One still had a small piece of the metal connector on it and the other wire had the metal connector completely gone and there was just a plastic piece left. Had to find something to cut and strip the wires back a bit. Got it running though, saved me from have to go an extra 140 miles for another trailer.

Going to put a new switch in it today.
I dont pretend to be a mechanic but I do try. I dont like to play the "girl card" and wait for one of the guys to fix things for me. Rather figure it out and get rolling again myself. But everyone on this forum has been very helpful . So thank you

My first suggestion based off the "Had to find something to cut and strip the wire" is go get a decent pocket knife. Kinda surprised you haven't ran into a thousand situations where a pocket knife would be handy already.....

I would say that's one of the most useful tools, if not the most useful tool as a truck driver.

I've got all sorts of knives but haven't really carried a pocketknife since I was a teenager. I keep a box cutter next to the seat of the truck.

As far as stripping wires goes, a smoker always has a lighter handy to melt insulation with....LoL

I know, I felt like an idiot. In my own truck I have a full set of tools everything from a simple screwdriver to an impact wrench, jumper cables, a small air compressor everything. However, I was not in my truck. I borrowed one because my driver took mine for a couple days. I just bought him an 07 Pete 379 and he had my truck while the mechanic finishes going over his truck before I put it on the road.
The truck I had I was lucky if I could find a pen!!
Personally I dont know how drivers travel without tools.
But I have to admit I did not think about using a lighter. I'll have to remember that one.
So despite my post I'm not really that much of an idiot lol!!
Anyway, I put in a new switch now and all is good, for now anyway until the next problem lol
