875 dollar paid few years ago at Basha's Phoenix area DC. It was 26 pallets of groceries. 4 kind of cereals. I was unloaded in 2 hours..
My record was 1800 dollar at Ralps Riverside DC. It was McCormics seasonings. More than 70 different seasonings, full trailer..

500 dollars over 12 hours for 4 people to dig out a collapsed load, destroyed pallets, and a additional 4000 in OSD cargo damage.

    I paid it.

Why? Four cars got under me. I horsed her very badly. Tractor bucked on me started sliding forward with a increasing angle on trailer. The minute I slammed trolley to get back straight she whipped.

The rumble of collapsing pallets were very loud. The suspension behavior changed telling me that I am no longer legal on the drives. Tractor started riding very poorly at that time. Nose up and proceeded to slam my spine lower on every concrete plate slamming the cab against it's lock down pins over cabwalk. Everything in the cab went flying. I just shoved all of it under the windshield. 2 feet high.

That was one of the three times I was angry enough to quit the entire trucking industry and start shooting people on my way out after I burned the 18 wheeler etc.

Took me about 4 days to calm down. Finally got a grip on that. Not doing that again.

The yelling has never stopped. It was a POS 120 mile run into Norristown PA And I just hired people off the street and stick em in the trailer with a simple instruction. Put pallet on dock put non leaking or damaged boxes on pallet. Stack bad ones on floor. Instructions later either reload onto me or throw in dumpster.

At hour 16 dumpster operation was completed.

    At hour 21, doors shut.

At hour 32 finally handed papers signed wtih attached OSD papers.

Norristown is one of my top 6 places in the black book. IF the devil needed food he will call Norristown to get it.

They're trying to cover part of the shipping cost which gives them more profit.
That's the way it was explained to me.

Broker pays, who then gets it from the customer.
    It’s a circle. I don’t know about saving anything.

Reciever is paying for freight to be shipped for lets say 1000 dollars. They charge a 200 dollar fee to unload , the freight just got shipped for 800 dollars. Times that by how ever many trucks per day/week/month , i can imagine it would add up. Just another reason to pull a flatbed. The day the crane guy tells me i got to pay him to unload his #### i am gonna drive back to the place i came from and dump the #### in the mud
