My problem with extended warrantys is not the money they can save you, it's the time they cost you.
Since time is money for us, even more than for most other people, in the end, a warranty will not save you much money after you do all the calculations for any significant work.
I bought an extended warranty. It cost me $5500 directly. The warranty paid out about 11k. Doubling my money is good, right?
Right. But I spent a total of 33 days off the road in a hotel. A complete rebuild and a EGR cooler replacement should not have taken that long, and most of the reason for that was TruNorth quibbling about what they covered and what they didn't. Their contract literally says that they do, and do not cover cascade / progressive damage caused by the components that they warranty. They also fought the dealer and I on coverage for diagnostic work. What should have taken two weeks or so, took nearly five weeks. All told, that unnecessary lost time due to TruNorth being painfully annoying cost me more than the coverage saved me.
If you are a local driver and don't mind spending a lot of time at the house, or if you run a small fleet and have a backup vehicle you can make work until the warranty service is done, then it might be worth it.
Selectrucks warrany or not?

With only 350 k on the clock most major repairs will occur after warranty runs out.. unless it has hidden issues your probably good till around 700 k before real issues start
SoCalRed Thanks this. -
Their warranty is toilet paper. It only covers the things you never have problems with. And any work involving warranty must be performed at an approved Freightliner dealer.Bend over.

Picked up the truck today.
Select warranty if a Freighter (Daimler) warranty not a 3rd party as we all assumed. It covers the turbo, injectors, egr the emission system and all internal parts.
I went with 1 year 100k miles for $5k.
It will give me some piece of mind that if something major fails I’ll be covered. At least I hope it will.77fib77, nikmirbre and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
Yes it is a freight liner warranty.....

The warranty I bought from them was a Freightliner warranty not a third party.
Used it once to replace a leaking water pump No issue at all.
It is possible that they also sell third party warranties which I would stay away from.
If your warranty is from Freightliner you’ll be fine. If not it’s a hit and miss.jamespmack and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
