Maybe I am not understanding your situation but, just because you get in the sleeper, doesnt mean you are "on your 10 hr break". You can drive 1 hour to the shipper, park, get in the sleeper for say 4 hours, move to the dock, get loaded in 1 hour & you still have 8 hours to drive & be on duty. Just because you have been in the sleeper for 4 hours, doesnt mean you have to reset your time.
On duty :15 minutes
Drive to shipper :45 minutes
sleeper 4:00 hours
on duty loading 1:00 hours
That is 6 hours counted toward your 14, you have 1:15 on duty, :45 minutes drive time & 4 hours sleeper.
You now have 8 hours left before you need to take a :30 break.... but that isnt an issue because you only have 8 hours left on your 14 anyway
You have 8 hours left on you 11 drive time
Just because you were in the sleeper doesn't mean your required to spend 10 consecutive off duty.

Sadly folks want to make jokes about a driver allowing a company to force log falsification.
And the industry descends further.dog-c, Oldironfan, roshea and 3 others Thank this. -
I’ll cook you an omelette to make it up to ya.

I scratch my head and ponder how many think how the 10 hour rule applies. I go by what the book says not the dispatcher or what another may think its suppose to be like. That is a trainwreck waiting to happen

Question 5: Do telephone calls to or from the motor carrier that momentarily interrupt a driver’s rest period constitute a change of the driver’s duty status?
Guidance: Telephone calls of this type do not prevent the driver from obtaining adequate rest. Therefore, the FHWA does not consider these brief telephone calls to be a break in the driver’s off duty status.
