I will repeat
2 questions;
1 - are you exempt because of the 100/150 mile exemption?
2 - how many hours are left when you get to the customer?
You do know your 10 hour reset is a voluntary thing, it is not a requirement at the point you park.

So you've never had an hourly pay job and the boss would like you to do a little something like empty a garbage can just after you punch out and you just do it quick off the clock? Explain to me exactly how you're "donating your time" if you don't even get paid by time but by the mile, that ones always confused me.
-
Most hourly employees with self respect would ask that the salaried manager do it instead.06driver Thanks this.
-
Really, when the boss who owns the place asks you to do something quick and then you can go ahead and leave, you're gonna ask somebody else to do it, sounds like a good way to get fired.
-
Should have asked when I was on the clock.

I am talking about things like taking a break at a customer. You log line 4, check in, get dock assigned, back in and then go to line 2 while getting unloaded. It takes four to five hours to unload. When your done they bring you the bills and they tell you you can go park and finish your break. If you go back onto line 3 or 4 to move the truck out of the dock, you're crazy.
No one in their right mind is going to RESTART a full ten hour brake six hours into one just to move to clear the dock for the next truck. -
Exactly what I've been saying for awhile, then I'm convinced a lot of people aren't their right mind away.Voyager1968 Thanks this.

Come December 17,2019 all movement of your truck will be one of two things, Driving of Yard Move (On Duty).
I suppose there will still be that third option of falsifying logs as Off Duty Driving to move around to the docks to avoid interrupting your 10 hour break..... -
If they want to unload the trailer I will disconnect and connect after my break.
I am not in the habit of lying to cover others needs. Many are which is why you people think it is acceptable to have your break interrupted. That is my time. Not the companies, not the shipper, not the receiver, not the dispatcher....hell I will not even answer a call while I am on break or hometime. All of the dispatchers I have ever had found out leave a message. I can block any number you call from, and unug whatever messaging system is in the truck. -
Ok let's talk about a completely different scenario

Carry a bag out on the way to my truck? Maybe depends on my mood. Carry out a can, dump it, and return it its place. Not a ####ing chance.
And anyone wanting to fire me for it is not someone I would work for anyways. Every ounce of labor has a price.
