Depends. You trust this guy? Feel good about the guy. Will he be there to support you at 03:00 when you're in BumFuk USA with a blown tire? He going to keep you busy and moving? You going to have to deal with broker calls, and make broker check calls multiple times daily?
It may be a good opportunity, or it may not (1099 aside)
1099? Run now?

Oh, dear. I say run fast the other way. Foreigners may not "be bad" but they are prone to not be very good to those who aren't "family"
truckerlife74, BigD09 and Toomanybikes Thank this. -
I'm not running around scales, I'm not driving a truck around on a quarter tank of fuel, I'm not running 3 logbooks, I'm not dealing with "Pushy" for $.50/mile.Last edited: Aug 19, 2015

BigD09 Thanks this. -
I bet u he has volvos.
Run from 1099, once u gotta do ur taxes, you will have to owe the government a lot of moneyBigD09 Thanks this. -
Well, since you are responsible for Employer taxes, that 50 cpm is more like 45-46 cpm. Then you figure what it costs you to get basic benefits, worker's comp, that sort of thing, and you see that this really isn't worth it. This is a good job opportunity, you know, for the guy who's struggling to find a job making 30 cpm because of his recent dui and multiple tickets/accidents.
For someone with decent experience and a good driving record, no.BigD09 Thanks this. -
Yeah he has a 2013 Volvo 780 and yeah he seems rude. I checked his csa and it says he only has 1 truck 1 unit.
