This makes me curious. If an officer says he's going to give you a warning for speeding. Can you tell him that you would rather just have the ticket? Does he have the right to refuse such a request? Obviously, if your following the law you dont have to worry about such things. But, what im trying to get at is. What if there is a vindictive cop that knows the system and just writes warnings whenever he pulls a cmv over because he knows they cant fight it in court??

Speaking of drivers racing into the AG check station--
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I’m curious as well as to where this offense took place.

Anyone else notice the trend of dudes coming on here and setting up an account using a female photo in the avatar, just so they get a response?
x1Heavy, bottomdumpin and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Maybe but to me a "warning for speed" is about as meaningful as saying "we almost got pregnant". More than likely the cop didn't get a radar lock and just pulled an allegation out of his butt. No precinct is going to pass up the kind of money (fine) such a charge would yield.

Most drivers today have a legal plan deducted from their pay every week. Law enforcement are getting tired of having their tickets overturned in court so they use the CSA warning system to have a "ticket" or "conviction" stick to the driver. Under CSA, there is no way to fight the warning and it goes onto the carrier's CSA and the driver's PSP reports.Dave_in_AZ and Toomanybikes Thank this.

I'm sorry but I can not buy into that line of thinking. It makes no sense for a jurisdiction as a whole to simply have an animosity for drivers and carriers, in general, to the point they will forego most fine opportunities, just to impose "problems" on drivers and carriers.
Every day we hear municipalities complaining of revenue shortcomings so why would they abandon a tried and true method of revenue generation? And most know that "driver legal services" are a scam and few subscribe to them. -
So it’s the officers fault he was speeding?Eowyn Thanks this.

I just love the places that have a little stretch
posted at 10 or 15 under the normal flow of traffic.
I call these locals Road Pirates. Or they sit just after you start down a hill, and pick up momentum you need to get up next little hill. Really?Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
