So he has $190,000 dollars in the bank & the bank rejected his $80,000 mortgage request... 2 questions come to mind.

    1) Why is he applying for a mortgage with that much cash in the bank?

    2) Why is the bank refusing the approve that mortgage knowing that he has that much money in the bank?

I probably would have done the same thing...

Heck, I don't blame him either. That is asinine! IF I were a customer of them I would go right now and withdraw my account as well. They showed they aren't very smart and I wouldn't want my money in their hands either! WTF?!?!

Yep... the worst one is just about to buy the one you're switching to anyway.

You can't be talking about Bank of America now can you? I ran from them for years... They kept buying up the banks I kept switching to. Then I moved to North Carolina. No B of A anywhere. Put my money in Nations Bank & within a couple years Nations was bought out by B of A.... Now I strictly deal with credit unions. But they aren't much better.

I was being more general, but yes that same exact thing happened to me in FL years ago. Left to go to Nations and got gobbled up. Left and found a better bank and then Wachovia gobbled them up. I've posted numerous rants on e-pinions about them over the years too.

    I MUCH prefer credit unions!

I had a BofA card and they shut the account when I paid it off in full in one payment recently. Perfect history... just decided to take the money and run because a truck had hit my credit report as a new account. They don't like us much.

I don't know if I've ever had a problem-free banking experience for longer than 6 months with any bank.

    You know the old saying
Banks only loan money if you can prove you don't need it:biggrin_25520:
