I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I honestly don't give a #### if you do. With your temper you are not going to last long in this business. There is no perfect company. Every carrier has a customer that is going to piss you off. I'm going to give you some sage advice that I am sure you will blow off. Lower that thermostat setting or get your elbow in shape because you are going to be flipping a lot of burgers.
TripleSix, Puppage and UsualSuspect Thank this. -
@lil penny you should give a thought to averitt since you was offered a job. I was with them for 2 yrs and some months. They are a descent outfit and also have the variety of divisions such as LTL, flatbed dedicated and so on.
Good lucklil penny Thanks this. -

I resemble that remark lol.
Now back to thread topic. The first 2-3 months is the toughest and most frustrating, it gets easier to deal withe the BS. You just have to remember, most policies are there due to the lowest denominator behind the wheel, most dispatchers at a starter company have no idea what the interior of a truck looks like. Just say to yourself 1,000 times, not everyone is like me, or has the same work ethic, then charge onward through the fog. -
Good advice. It's easy for positive attitude to wear down .

Pure BS. Take a guess at the average time frame a trucker leaves this industry. Hint it is NOT those first 2 or 3 months. I agree those months are difficult however this job does NOT get easier. In fact those first 6 to 8 months alone are killer. Maybe 90% of the threads started in here asking am I screwed because I just had an accident are(you guessed it) are drivers inside that first year. It is closer to 2 maybe 3 years before a driver fully gets comfortable behind that wheel. One more point. Quitting a job out of frustration after only 2 months is not something a driver is going to get by with time and time again

Stay away from the megas, their all the same pretty much, set your sights higher.
lil penny Thanks this. -
It's not BS, you are mixing driving with the other BS. I separate the two. Both times my truck was hit, was by drivers with more than 10 years behind the wheel, complacency behind the wheel can happen to anyone.

I disagree. The op stated he didn't like the do rights and military type mentality he will not prosper in a better company. If all the do rights are bothering you then maybe you are the problem. With your attitude you will hate every company you work for including McDonalds.TripleSix, 06driver and UsualSuspect Thank this.
