I worked for Schneider bulk, i seen some mess up bad, they’d route them to a terminal for either retraining or to let go, and I personally seen them rent a car for one to go home.

I’d recommend them, but do your best.
Pay attention and if not sure about something, double check, just takes a second.

No high hooks, instant fire on the property, ease back, get out and look, with flashlight, the Schneider way.

Guy I met in CDL school started at Schneider and about a year later he was dumped in Laredo. Stranded curbside with all his gear and no help from the company. I know he had a bunch of screwups..dropped trailer..got stuck tore up a couple drive tires..frozen brakes on a trailer and ruined two tires completely..etc. There’s more but I can’t remember what else he told me.
Fact is Schneider reported everything to DAC and he was unable to get hired anywhere else.
Luckily I was able to get him hired on where I was..
He’s been there now at least 6-7 years now..although rumor has it that he just moved on.
Seems Schneider had a lot of patience with him but unfortunately they’ll kill your career via DAC.

    @Brian402 --

You can indeed proceed as planned...& go on to CDL school with Schneider.

But...when you get your CDL...you will graduate into a freight slump. :(

General freight volumes are down now...& are forecast to stay that way...probably thru at least the rest of the year.

Things may--or may not--get even worse, before they get better.

Thus...you may...or may not...sit & wait for loads. If you are sitting...you may not be making money.

Suggestion: one option around the above--think FOOD.

With that in mind--another carrier that will cover your meals, lodging...& PAY YOU a salary while you get your CDL with them--& then later give you a job afterwards:

    https://www.wdtmilk.com/driver-academy

The work/loads with that carrier will be much steadier....given the current general freight market.

Their closest academy to you is the one in Cabool, Missouri.

Tanker school with Schneider would be either Houston...or maybe in Louisiana...or in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.

    Think about it...

It's better to decide about where to work and only then decide about how/where to go to school. After CDL school you don't have unlimited time to research where to work. After a relatively short time some employers will not hire you unlessbyou do a refresher course. About half of trucking companies offer Tuition Reimbursement to pay for school.

Would it be better for a man to arrange his furure wedding and once that is done to start looking for his wife, or reverse the process? The goal is a good job, the school is just and administrative detail. Focus on the important goal, first.

I did my training at Schneider. The cafeteria food was surprisingly good.
