It's not what the walls look like, its what is behind the kemlite panels. At that age the insulation is shot and most likely has some degree of moisture and mold. Also at 44k hours the engine and compressor are pretty much done on a 20 year old unit.

Additionally many shippers won't load a trailer that is over 10 years old.

    bzinger Thanks this.

All that trailer is good for is a warming trailer in the Bakken.

    2004 rig, sure.

    2004 reefer? Bahahahaha

I wouldn't start into reefer this year. Recently the rates have hit next to nothing.
Going to go lower I fear.
If I was starting into trucking this year, I would go drive for Walmart for 100k with benefits.

I agree with the Walmart thing, and at this point I’m too far in to quit. I’ve also been looking into flatbed and I’m not afraid of hard work, I just gotta get from under this dry van. A buddy offered this trailer to me but it sounds like more of a headache than anything especially being green on the whole reefer side I don’t need the added hassles.

Do your dry van. Less trouble.

I have a 2011 utility and I had to plate the floor this winter, they just don’t hold up, I’ve also got a sb200 with 18000 engine hours and that doesn’t run half bad though, but I don’t do anything picky like produce, set it at ~15* and ride
