Thats the problem I'm currently having. The system they are using has a geo tag function so that you are automatically checked in when you arrive at the customer. Thats nice but once it checks in, it goes to the check/out screen. On my system at least, it won't let you get out of the checkout screen until you send in a departure mac. Problem is, it burns 6-8 minutes of extra drive time with the truck not moving until it autoshifts to On-Duty, then it remains on On-Duty until you manually change it to Off Duty. Next problem being you can't access your logbook until you clear the departure mac screen. The cost to me already this week is 35 minutes. So now there is a disparity on my two logs. Paper says I get back 10.5 hours on my recap tonight, E-Log says I get back 9:52. Duh duh duh. Company says that its because of an administrator setting that they don't know how to change and are trying to get Peoplenet to help them resolve the issue. Unfortunately, they can't take back the drive time so I just get the shaft. I'm not dissatisfied with the E-log as a whole, its just the little bugs like this are irritating. I just have to remind myself that its only the test phase and it will get REALLY better when they are implemented fleet-wide.

FYI, this is not the first time USA tested the elogs. They tested them once about 3 years ago and decided not to go with it. No guarantee that they will decide in favor of them this time around either.

I was told its already been decided. Only decision left open is which system to go with. They have 30 drivers on the program from 3 different fleets. 10 testing Peoplenet, 10 testing Qualcomm, and 10 testing the Rand Mcnally's. Safety told me its a green light for launch Dec 1. Whichever company they go with. Like I said though, I'm not as dissatisfied with the elogs as I thought I would be. They are more convenient in certain ways than the paper, I just wish they could get the little bugs worked out.

There is a suspend button on the liad info screen. Hit it and tge screen goes away for 1 minute. Then repeat as nessacary. Mine was mussing the suspend button so I sent the info generically to get the screen to go away so I could go off duty. Sent in a msg telling them why and then once I got the signature I sent in real info and they fixed on their end. Next stop I had my suspend button. They fixed mine. Just let them know. As far as it sitting on drive until it auto converts to onduty it will back up to when vehicle stopped. Or it is suposed to. I manually switch to onduty on arrival. Soon as I am done checking in I switch to.off duty. Then back and forth as needed.

The workflo and elogs are not linked yet but they are supossed to be when it goes live for everyone. Ill still double check manually until I'm satisfied it works properly.

Ironically.....thats the exact thing mine is missing. That was their initial solution when I called in to report the issue. When I responded that it wasn't available anywhere on the screen as an option, they were dumbfounded. I'm sure Peoplenet is hard at work fixing the issue now.

    ,

Rand McNallys system? They can't even support or fix their GPS systems why would anyone consider that one. But, if I know USA that's the way they will go.
Don't know what the rush is to go to elogs. Final ruling has not been made and there are still possible 2 more court cases waiting to be filed based on the outcome of the final ruling.

Frog is correct. Rand Mcnally freezes up to often. It does it when you need it most too. There updating system sux too.

So everybody get ready for Rand Mcnally.

We use People Net where I'm at now. But since I always use rental trucks I'm still on paper logs. I think it's easier than Work Flow. Work Flow wants to know if you have a mole on your hip.

I just got a new 2013 Cascadia with APU and power inverter. Some of USA's 2013's are equipped.

    Truck number and milage please.

I was told when I got mine all the newly bought trucks would be without an apu. Still have inverters though. Its probably coming from the new ceo. But tgats just a guess. But the timing is suspect
