If possible I show up night before appt time and deliver my 1st stop early am and get to next stop asap. Usually can do 5 stops in LA and get to the yard or shipper and get reloaded to head over different direction.
3 drop load?

Yeah, I used Google Maps satellite to see the layout of the best way into this Costco. It helps a lot for that or getting a quick ballpark of the mileage.
Also, I'll probably just sort of dock off the clock at my first stop and start my E-log when I leave. It will save my time for my pre-plan that runs me through Chicago tomorrow. -
Y'all are missing the part where drop #2 doesn't do afternoon deliveries.
.
So yes, first thing Monday morning call both drop #1 and #2 and find out receiving hours. Then plan accordingly. Ideally I'd still like to get drop #1 off Monday. I think that's where I need to work back from. Then if that doesn't work be there for 7 am gets me to drop #2 by noon as Plan B.
So I think I will plan on 250 miles Sunday, leaves me 400 to cover Monday to get delivered around 3 pm.
Thank you!! And Zeviander thanks for typing it out.Zeviander Thanks this. -
No problem. I love trip planning, but tend to have to write it all down for it to be useful for myself or anyone else.SingingWolf Thanks this.

The key was to make it efficient. No point kicking the first off to get to the second, only to have to sit overnight. I think I can play enough to have hours to get #3 off Wednesday morning. Thanks againZeviander Thanks this.

Good luck. This your first multi-drop? They are always difficult to pull off, but they are incredibly rewarding.

I've done two stops, but the routing made sense/the drops were close/easy to figure out. This run makes no sense looking at the big map, and drop 2 having no afternoon delivery skews it.

Speaking of makes no sense, I done a 17 stop load Thursday and Friday that went MS, into AL, back to MS, back to AL, Then FL and ended in AL. Lol then deadheaded home to MS. Gotta love that computer routing.
I did make right at $750 for the 2 days work though so that made it all worth it lolDDlighttruck Thanks this. -
This is my personal best.
Five stopper. Five cities. About 1700 miles.
Now I'm not recommending you do something like this.
Left ( finally ) McKinney Texas at 1900 Thursday night. Dry van ( BIG MONEY product, not kidding ). First stop Friday morning was Sparta, MO.
Not supposed to open until 0600, well there was a guy there at 0400, and it was the biggest drop, and I was done back on the road by 0500, yes I helped. 2 hours gained.
Next stop was St.Joseph, MO. Got there I think around noon. Blew almost an hour as the place is downtown, and it's like a colonial village with steep hills, extremely narrow streets.
Third stop Sioux City, Iowa. Got their 1600 Friday afternoon.
That 1130 on my odometer is how far I went Since 1900 Thursday night. Won $10 from my cousin cause he said I wouldn't get the third drop off.
See if I had not got the third drop off, I'm stuck in Sioux City until Monday morning. Instead I was in Minnesota Monday morning in the dock of my fourth drop, also unloaded in like 20 minutes cause it was like 0500. Empty at my last drop by 0900.
Up to International Falls, MN by 1300 for a $2 mile reload going to Cleveland.
Your ability to navigate will help you save a lot of time, as well as summing up and getting in and out of places.DDlighttruck Thanks this. -
It never hurts to try when you get to these places. Early in the mornings I have found is the best. People are typically in a good mood, and there's not a lot going on, so there's no interference.
I've been to some, same product, where guys are arguing with each other, lunch time, it's your turn, blah, blah.
If you think your just gonna barely make it, call them and plead your case. Nine out of 10 will work with you for an half hour or so, instead of going home.
Always try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I once got unloaded at Pepsi a day early !!!!!!! That resulted in another $2 mile load, being loaded, before I should have even been empty !!!!!!!
Good luck
