I ran into a guy around Atlanta several months ago on the cb. We were talking 3rd lane truck restriction. This guy had done quite a bit of research on the subject and had defeated a ticket in court. I got his email info but evidently copied it down wrong. Would love to get back in touch with him again. If anyone has spoken with this guy or knows of him I would appreciate any info that you could offer along those lines.....Thanks!

Or.....You could just stay out of the left lane in those states that don't allow you to be there.

Well not to be a smart arse, but if they are posted with traffic control devices (i.e., signs) which say vehicles over a certain amount of weight are prohibited from being in the lane, I'm not sure what this fella can say or do in a court of law. It is what it is, just like w900 said, stay out of the lane and you have no worries.

Probably nothing more than a truck driver story.

But they are pretty clearly posted on where you can be in the left lane, and at what point you are restricted from the left lane again.

Coming northbound on 285, preparing to take 20 west, I'm in the left lane two miles before the exit--a mile and three quarters BEFORE the sign that says "Trucks end lane restriction".

The day they give me a ticket for being in the left lane ahead of time is probably the day I'll circle back around and yank it across four lanes of traffic 100ft before the exit.:biggrin_25510:
