My question would be...who would want to work that hard...that will take a toll on your body and watch your health go downhill because of it...work smarter not harder..

Kudos to you folks that can / will do 4,000 miles. Hard to compare on my end, doing multi-stops and doing about 300-600 a week. 4,000 miles no effing thanks.
"semi" retired Thanks this. -
See that's the reason we all do different variations of the job. Running the same routes everyday, city traffic, etc. would drive me freaking insane! As far as working smarter not harder, working smart(compensated well) and hard means a paid off truck in less than 2 years, (for me this is a big milestone)!
Tall Mike, Shaggy and Cranky Yankee Thank this. -
i drive 750 miles stop and wonder what i'm gonna do with the rest of the day
-
Yup, Different variations, You may hate bumping a dock 80-200 times a week. I hate driving few thousand miles per week, That's what is great about driving a truck. Every thing imaginable to do behind a steering wheel.
Well said. -
4000 miles i better be making 2000 plus a week btw i love paper logs but im not driving 4000 miles every week i use paper logs for me not company.
david123abc and Shaggy Thank this. -
I logged 4100 miles this trip out from El Paso, TX to York, PA and back. Left at 2pm last Monday and rolled into the yard with 0 hours left on my 70 yesterday. We run a lot of loads directly between York and El Paso so it's not hard to do those kind of turn arounds when you're not burning up time doing short hauls.
Cranky Yankee, Al. Roper and Hammer166 Thank this. -
It is possible if nothing goes wrong, you hit little to no traffic backups. Running NE it will never happen. It is possible in most other parts of the country with good weather, good traffic, equipment that doesnt break down, no long delays at shippers receivers.
Before we get on the old paper vs elog fight I know Joe from Lessors has done it more than enough, with an elog and 68MPH truck.
This last summer, I found it difficult to do at times in a 75 MPH truck with paper logs, depnding on where my bachauls took me that extra 3 or 4 hours really put kinks in my plans sometimes...ended up with quite a few 6, 7, 8 hour days after 4 weeks straight so I didnt hit the 70 hour limit...
...oh and running 4000 miles per week every week you will almost never get a legit 34 hour restart. -
