Daydreaming has NO place behind the wheel of a big rig.

    NO place.

Tickets like that are big money for that town with no work expended. And it is always worse when you include hazmat placards. In the future, if you can't tell if the scale is open or closed, be safe and roll across the scales anyway, better to be safe than sorry.

And when you catch yourself daydreaming stop for a minute and kick the tires, open a drink, turn the radio on/off, whatever it takes to wake you back up. Look in the mirrors...really look around you, sit up in the seat. Get your head in the game.

The driver was daydreaming and almost missed the weigh station. Daydreaming is the #2 cause of crashes after distracted illegal phone use while driving.

How do you know he was daydreaming?

Sounds more like you think he was daydreaming

Because in the very first post by the op he said he was daydreaming. While hauling hazmat.

We are not talking about the OP, as he got a ticket for MISSING the weigh station while day dreaming.

I was talking about an over dramatic video where the claim is driver was day dreaming and ALMOST missed the weigh station. No statement from the driver being filmed that he was in fact day dreaming after completing the legal pass.

I don't believe it was legal for that truck to be out in that lane. If you recall from the beginning of the video, the lane lines are paint blocked and the sign reads "Weigh Station" with the yellow, Exit Only indicated. A truck driver may travel out of that lane only if they are allowed by the Prepass signal. If they do not have Prepass they must be in the lane at least prior to that first overhead Prepass reader which in this case this driver merged over past the second reader.

I really don't know if the driver was daydreaming, you're right. But what else could it be when a driver is racing through the weigh station zone?

It's possible the driver was thinking about daydreaming.

It has no place behind the wheel at all. But even more so in a truck, agreed.
