I know it's probably a ridiculous question. Guy close to home has these pretttly often. I just haven't hauled anything that long.
It's 25k lbs. Figured I could slide my fifth wheel back, 3 over the front, 5 over the back.
Feasible?

Yep, nice easy load. Permits will be next to nothing.
I'm not saying you should, but 56' sure looks close to 53' at 70 mph. All this cold weather probably make that beam shrink a lot at night. -
I’ve done 60’ tower cranes, weight is about 45k, I’ve slid the fifth wheel all the way back, done 5’ over the front(18” from headboard on corners) and 7’ off the rear. Then just ride in the wind.

Load it and roll driver… I’m not an oversized driver or company but even I’d haul that for the right rate…
Rugerfan, booley, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
Some states, AR for one, One single piece (regardless of how many) over 4 ft just a red flag.
Jubal Early Times, booley and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
This was back in July…all on a 48. No permit on the first one but the second one I was permitted for with an escort. Just had a 55’ tube on a 48 last month to the same place (right through Boston, no permit)

Used to paint 53 over the 55 on some pipe loads that were labeled and stick it all off the front of the trailer…I normally had permits but sometimes went places that I rarely went. Got some funny looks and questions from the guys at the jobsite when they thought their pipes were to short
BoxCarKidd, booley, cke and 3 others Thank this.
