My point is the company cannot let you drive after you have been on 70 hours until you take a 34 hour off duty break, so why would they even want you on duty? The longer they keep you on duty, the longer it will be before they can put you back in the truck. That's why the safety director said you can only log 70 hours on duty. They don't make nothing if you work in the shop, matter of a fact, they probably have to pay you if you work in the shop? The only way they make money off of you is if you are rolling down the road.
-
You might be surprised. Yes some drivers get paid for working on the truck or dock work.
-
You don't have to take a 34. If a 10 hour break is all it takes to gain hours for driver that's all you need. 34 hour resets are completely optional.
-
Yea I might be but I doubt it. Trucking companies hire drivers for 1 purpose-to make money off of them.
-
Read the link I posted. After you have been on duty 70 hours, you must take 34 off.
-
How about you copy and paste the relevant part you think where it says a 34hr restart is required.
-
It is not required. If you want your full back then you have to do a 34. You can run a recap if you want to.
-
But are you still limited to drive 11 hours a day or u may drive the whole day..
-
I thought reset were optional. I worked my 70 before and waited one day to do recap. No violation
