on the qc the 8/2 - 2/8 has been all about guess work for me, can't rely on specific numbers, paper has to be the the better way to go. the split works best in the sleeper , off duty will eat time.

Scottie, I'm 100% sure I'm right ... I do splits constantly. The 14 doesn't start ticking until you go on duty. And the 11 has nothing to do with a split. The 11 stops as soon as you stop driving and doesn't start again, until you start driving.

That is why drivers who stop for the 2 hour portion must choose the best place to do so to get all their off duty stuff done. Shower, laundry, food or whatever. Doesn't do too much good to stop at the rest area for 2 hours then go up the road 3 hours and stop for 45 minutes, that time is ticking off the 14 and eating into the 11 hard.
But for me 10 hours driving a day is enough.
Today my schedule is
On Duty/Pretrip 15 minutes
Drive 45 minutes to customer
On Duty 15 minutes check in
Sleeper 2 hours
On Duty 15 minutes Loaded Call
Drive til 8 hours max or whenever I feel like stopping before that, that will be the 8 hours Sleeper portion. After which I plan to make a short video showing the 14 ticking down at the 07:59 mark still then stopping at the 08:00 mark then resuming its ticking down at the 08:01 mark.
If I am wrong I owe myself a sit down steak dinner. -

The regs state any period of 8 or more hours but less than 10 in the sleeper is not counted against the 14 hour clock. -
Your drive and shift hours will reset to the end of your 2 hour break... Not just stay the same as you had going in to the sleeper.
This all depends on if your log calculates everything correctly. -
I'm beginning to think I'm unique
elog
pretrip
bobtail 25 minute's to a yard to grab a empty, 1.5 hrs before one is available
take a 2 hr brk plus hook and pretrip on trailer time
drive to shipper - 20 minute's to pick up a pre loaded trailer
load not ready - shipper won't start on it until tomorrow. give me another load # ready to go.
contact company wait 1.75 hrs for approval - drop hook pretrip
drive 30 minute's to a fuel stop up the road. 30 min to wait and fuel
so how's that 8/2 - 2/8 split going? -

OK here is what happened after the 8 hours in the sleeper.

Do us all a favor quit playing with the computer when you should be sleeping. Since your such a stickler for the manual, you should know that is a violation of the rules.
Anything ≥8 sleeper hours stops the clock.
Anything ≥10 sleeper/off duty restores a complete 11/14
Anything ≥8 sleeper hours + ≥2 sleeper/off duty hours can restore the complete 11/14 with the remainder of hours unused on you both clocks until the next break.
No use playing with the qualcom unless yours is defective. Thats the way the rules are written. Of course you should have known.
