Yes you are.
Unless the truck has been abused, seriously abused, you can just have it welded and go on your way.
I have never had a truck that took more than two days for a clutch or pretty much anything.
Never ever had to replace the bell housing and only once replaced the clutch housing on the engine because of an accident with a jack - the shop paid for that. Never ever had a flywheel replaced only resurfaced.
Also never ever pay up front for repair work. If a shop can't get the parts on credit, then bill you for the work, run from that shop. They should work on a 30-90 payment to a dealer or parts company. If they don't they are mismanaged.
And watch out for the shops that break things to make money. I drive a truck that went in for a clutch adjustment at a shop I would never use. Everything comes back screwed up but this company uses them because they are cheaper than a dealer. It came back with the clutch adjusted but all of a sudden the lift axle bag blew out where I've never seen one blow, and that was replaced for $700 ... now has a serious air leak which it will have to be fixed right, not by this shop.
8 work days to replace clutch??

I bet if you name the shop someone on here has dealt with them and can say whether you're getting screwed or if they are legitimately repairing a mess you call a clutch job.
Road Killer Thanks this. -
Hard to tell in that pic but that cracked part looks like the flywheel housing. I would say the guy isn't BSing you about that. I can see some of these parts taking some time to source as they aren't as commonly sold as some of the other items.Road Killer, snowman_w900 and samjward Thank this.

Why don't you tell us the whole story of what happened to the truck? Flywheel housings and clutch housings don't just break like yours did. Were you driving it when this happened? I don't see anything so far that makes me think you're being ripped off. The flywheel housings you're comparing prices with probably don't have sales tax and shipping included in the price either. I don't think you should be naming the mechanic, and potentially ruining their reputation, without telling the whole story of what damages they're trying to repair.Road Killer, snowman_w900, swaan and 1 other person Thank this.

I was asked a question to see if anyone else dealt with them. I'm not trying to ruin anyone reputation. Yes, it was moving when this occurred. In 1st gear. I understand the amount of the damage and I understand that the clutch caused the issue in the first place. The guy who put the clutch in a year ago didn't tighten the bolts properly and therefor it caused the complete failure of not only the clutch, but many other parts. Also - while the transmission is dropped we noticed that the input shaft is movable and it appears the transmission needs replaced.Road Killer Thanks this.

Wow! Over $26k in repairs in 5 months? Did this include an engine rebuild? I CAN see this "clutch job" being over $10k after seeing that picture!!!
