Kind of scary, but then again its no wonder why the failure rate at leasing is what it is...

  3. I am, and I'm hardly winging it. Would you agree that there is more than one way to do things? So knowing what it costs to run the semi, has worked for you I assume. Just running my semi is not enough for me sir. My business, my truck, includes everything at home as well as including my hometimes. That's what works for me. And by all accounts, I'm a huge success in this industry. I've already paid off a lease truck. How many of you have? Lol...keep thinking that there is only one way to do things. I'll keep doing what I'm doing.

    Rcross6774 and stormy379 Thank this.
  4. So scary...ooohhh. :) part of the reason that I didn't want to do one of these threads is having to deal with others who think they know everything. But if I can help one person with my posts, then I'm okay dealing with people who think they know best for my situation. Fact is, none of you are me and I'm not you. I run my business very meticulously for what I'm trying to accomplish. And what I've been able to do in this industry is run 4-5 weeks and take 10-14 days off on the regular. That's what I want to do, so really, while I appreciate what you might seem as a helpful hint, this is not the thread for that. This is a thread about MY experience at A&A Express.

I think the ALPC (anti lease purchase crusaders ) have a membership drive every week. However I know the core leadership remains the same.
Close minded and self absorbed .
You'd think they have more important things to be concerned with, like treating their explosive diarrhea, or getting that bloody stool looked at.

stormy379, Tx-Creep and RERM Thank this.

That's what I do too, lump my COL (Cost of Living) with my truck overhead, fuel maintenance retirement and truck replacement into my rate, calculated by the annum then break it down by month and week and hour and mile after that.

    HAWAIIANTHRIVER Thanks this.
  7. Then we do things in a similar way. Some drivers do things differently. Then again, some drivers live on the road. Some drivers have one leg. Some drivers are have an eye patch. Lol. Point is, everyone is different and everyone has different needs. I think the best way to do things is figuring out what you need, what it is going to take to get there, and then figuring out the best way to do it for you.

Not sure why the negative & defensive reactions? All I asked is if you know what it cost to operate your truck?

I'm not an anti-lease op crusader, I've done it. I now own my own truck and run under someone else's authority. I make a decent living and am home at least 12 times a month.

However, based on the numbers you presented, I suspect that you are essentially buying yourself a decent paying company position. If you're happy with that set-up, like I said, more power to you.

Just don't don't bury your head in the sand, that's all...

    I wish you well.

  9. Are there company positions that allow a guy to be home every 4 weeks for 10-14 days? Lol...because I'd be all ears.

Don't get to hurt, it was a statement at the general lease purchase driver...

Never said I know everything... I think the other driver was giving you friendly advice...

Fact is correct you sure aren't me and positively I'm not you...

I didn't offer any hints, but I will say good luck hope you make it all you want it to be

    HAWAIIANTHRIVER Thanks this.
  11. Well thank you.
