A little secret about windshield wipers for your truck

Trucking companies put the WORST and cheapest wipers on their trucks. A driver being able to actually SEE where they are going is the most important thing a driver does continually. Especially when it is raining and snowing. I will never understand why companies skimp on this.

I've tried all the name brands. Bosch Icon, Rain-X, Michelin, Trico. They suck. Maybe 6-8 months of usage at best and most are streaking at 4-5 months if not sooner.

So here's my secret. You'll pay a little extra but look up the year and make and model of your tractor on google. Figure out how long of wiper blades you need. Write it down somewhere for quick reference.

Now go stop at your local Toyota dealership and buy a set of OEM Toyota wiper blades. Just give them the length.

They are standard J-Hook wipers. If you have a different mounting system for your wipers, you'll need to get an adapter kit off ebay, amazon or online so they will work. A parts store might have them as well.

Toyota OEM wipers are the best. Longevity, quality and superior to anything on the market.

Do NOT allow the Toyota Parts Dept to sell you Sightline wipers (they are junk). Be very adamant about that.

Now, the other important part.
At least once a week, take a little Dawn dish soap and a wet microfiber towel and manually clean each wiper off (both sides of each blade). Then take another dry microfiber towel and dry it off gently. This will increase the life of the wiper blades and gets the bugs off and prevents the wipers from being deformed by the bugs and the heat from late spring to fall. In winter time it keeps the mud, slush, sludge and salt from caking up on and drying your wipers out which in turn reduces the life of the blades.
