Well thanks. There are a lot of solid people around here, yourself included. I'm glad I checked the site out and stayed past the early abrasiveness. lol

And the more @Lepton1 -like we can be, the better off we are.

    Well said.

    Same to @LtlAnonymous.

Your posting here now, this many years later, shows the impact he had on you. The fact you continue(d) to pay it forward says much about you.

    Thanks for sharing the story.

Ha, kinda reminds me of that song "People are crazy".

Don't you feel better now? Oh, and don't worry, I skipped out on paying the dinner bill. They're still looking for you.

Statute of limitations is up on that one. Plus, I don't go too much further west than St. Louis these days, so...I doubt I'll be south of Kansas City again. lol

Don't feel too bad about it, it happens to most of us at some time or the other.

Way back when, I was partying with group of truckers in Rochester MN.
We grabbed a couple taxi cabs and headed downtown and started bar hopping.
After a few bars we noticed we lost a driver, but kept on partying.
The next day his truck and load were still there but he was nowhere to be found so we alerted dispatch.
Three days later he shows up with a permanent smile on his face.
Turns out he got kidnapped by an exotic dancer who shared a big old farm house south of town with three other dancers and they had their way with him until he couldn't take any more and managed to escape and hitched a ride back to town.

Regrets only bring us down. Looking back only makes us sad. Seeing ahead and appreciating the past because we grow and learn makes life sweeter and full of grace.

Yeah, I'm really glad this thread turned out as well as it did. It made me feel better, and I'm glad if it did the same for anyone else.
