This has happened to me several times. I'll be on a load with a one hour cushion for delivery. Get a pre plan that picks up an hour from my current delivery. The p/u is for 1.5 hrs. Past my delivery appt. I call my FM and tell her I can do it only if I hit no traffic, no construction, no
Big hills, delivery unloads in less than 30 minutes and no traffic between stops. Then the run will be 9 hrs away and again I tell her same issues on that. Plus getting a 10 in somewhere She told me to never say no with out calling her first. She usually asks when is my best ETA. I tell her. Most of the time she gets all the times adjusted. My favorite is when that happens and they send another pre plan for after the first with even tighter times. I am basically being asked to miracle this freight there lol. I seem to be getting it done because my FM never seems to jump me about it and it keeps happening. I don't mind I'm getting consistent ok miles.

    MNdriver Thanks this.

Mine have been that way lately too. I've been in the Northeast for the last week. Most drivers would complain but I've had good loads, all being either HAZMAT or multistop. They all have tight times though and EARLY deliveries. This morning I was 30 minutes late on a delivery which is way out of character for me. Only explanation I had was due to wrecks all over Pittsburgh, it took me 2.5 hours to move 50 miles. Customer didn't care as it was a chemical plant and I was the only delivery scheduled for this morning.

I have noticed that we are getting tighter times on everything and even when there is a window we aren't told unless we say we can't make it. I suspect this is a plan to force higher efficiency but it really irritates me when I don't know what wiggle room I have. Makes planning more difficult but if it ups my loads and miles then I'll deal with it.

What accidents in Pittsburgh? I didn't ride to much in Pittsburgh (for once) today, but I didn't see much going on. Then again I went through after morning rush hour.

I used to tell myself I won't "work" in Pittsburgh... and yet that is what i'm doing pretty much. I either pickup OR deliver in Pittsburgh lol.
