Plascadia? Open up the door and chew on it, or the cab... Does it taste like plastic?

What do you suggest then instead? And where/what do I need to mount it?

What year is the truck? If it's a newer one, this would be a simple solution.

So this is a mirror mount like the ProComm. Truck is 2020. What antenna for this mount if not Wilson 2000?

The link is about the older Cascadia, but the only difference is the mount needed. 7ft SkipShooter worked the best. I tried about everything, in several different locations on the truck. There is quite a bit of info on here about the Cascadia. The truck has been around for a long time. Save yourself the headache and learn from others. Cascadia Antenna Solutions

I personally like using a stud extension, a standard antenna mirror mount with a 5.5' Francis Antenna and about 9 feet of RG 142u cable. Works good for me. I use this antenna setup in most of the different trucks I drive and works fairly well.

Appreciate the feedback, Mike. I read about the first 5 pages (of the 140+ that were there). Got to your pictures of the Skipshooter with the Lexan brace.

I have to say, I am not a fan of that brace. While it worked and worked well, I'm sure, it wasn't very "elegant" looking. I just don't like the idea of two vice grips hanging out over to top of my mirror.

Two questions, Mike: did you ever try a dual antenna setup (in that Skipshooter setup or any other), and what was your range with the setup as pictured? Oh, one other: was your radio amped/what other equipment did you have?

So far, I've had people tell me not to use a Wilson 2000 (or a pair of them) but no one has said why they aren't a good option. Would love to hear why this opinion was voiced. From everything I've read, a dual center-loaded antenna setup of the Wilson 2000s ought to reach out about 7 miles--all else being correct.
