Drivers should read ALL the material they receive in orientation. All this stuff handed to the drivers is like a safety net for the companies to prevent lawsuits.DriveStyer and 201 Thank this.

I now know why I keep seeing videos on YouTube where the only video is a driver recording a full interior and exterior video of the rig, and a video of them leaving with the company terminal sign out front.
-
ummm i wouldv asked the dispatcher if i was gonna leave your truck somewhere without approval dont you think i would go home and tell you to come get it there? lol

First I must say from my experience most of these abandonment charges are bunk; just a way for a company to retaliate against a former employee. But here we clearly got some information left out of this story:
He 'took the truck to the terminal but they had no extra locks.' Locks for what? It appears he was under a load? Why didn't he deliver before returning to the terminal? Why weren't other arrangements made to deliver the load? It sounds like he accepted a load and then refused to deliver without making arrangements to leave the company before the load delivered? That is abandonment.
Why in the hell would you park a loaded truck away from the terminal due to "no extra locks" when you have a secure terminal with a guard shack? That makes no sense. It sounds like your husband accepted a load to get him home with no intentions of delivering the load and making no arrangements with dispatch to have the load delivered. Sounds like the whole issue is indeed him.Roberts450 and Bakari742 Thank this.
