ATBS sucks. I keep all my receipts in plastic boxes. Then separate them into categories. I try to get a duplicate receipt for all since they some times fade.

If your looking profit loss statement for your self. A note book with monthly/weekly expenses would should work for a one truck operation

Some people take smart phone pictures and put those pictures in folders and then send to email at home. To save later. The toll receipts and others can fade over time.

 

So long as you can back up accounting it’s all good.

I recommended this to a friend, he went a different route, computer took a dump, and he got 2 years behind in taxes.

Cloud based, or securely backed up is probably safer.

 

I use quickbooks Online and it works great. Takes a couple mins to figure out a few things but it is pretty simple once you understand the basics.
