Just based off of your post and the contradictions within it……..The world outside of whatever fantasy land you currently live in is going to be cruel.

Calling BS on something in this thread. How does DOT Foods Transportation get away with hiring 18 year old class a cdl drivers and running them intrastate when most if not all of their products come via interstate commerce?

    OK so?

Not to pick on you but freight is freight. If your family has any experience with trucking outside being a steering wheel holder, they will give you an idea where to get the work.

By the way, I know I am going to start some crap here with others but here goes ----->>> A box truck is not dock high, a straight truck is dock high. This is not me pulling it out of my ******* but it has been this way for a few decades.

and how are you going to jump into an 80k semi? will it be loaded and always weigh 80k?

They’re a distributor. Same as the food service companies that hire 18 year olds.

I started with farm serv-u centers.
Old trucks, but you learned how to work on them.
Don’t help much with these computer driven trucks, now.

So that's the difference, they own the product?

I would assume so. It comes into their warehouse and then gets loaded back out as an order to their customer. I hadn’t thought much about it until you said something, back when I was slinging pop for Pepsi we had people under 21 driving delivery trucks in MT and our cans come from WY and the bottles at the time came out of UT.

The interstate movement stops when the freight is put into their warehouse without an exact know destination prior to being sold, selected and shipped to the local resturants that buy from them. The big difference between them and say UPS is the final destination of the package that began its trip out of state (or country) was known when it entered their distribution system. There are a few court rulings on this verybsubject that affect the intent part of the definition of interstate commerce and it is a very fine line between warehousing with an unknown final destination and warehousing with a known final destination that makes the difference.

I did find it on the FMCSA website, and you are correct about me not being able to do interstate, Thank you for letting me know.

What contradictions. I’m 19 so something rate wise that might not work for everyone else could work for me, like I said I’m only planning on staying in a box truck for about a year. I also live in one of the best states for box truck freight.
